In the fall of 2001, GlobeMed shipped two electrosurgical units to the Fundacao de Cirurgia Hospital, located in the Aracayu state of Sergipe in northeast Brazil . The hospital has operated as a non-profit since May 2, 1926 , and serves as a training center for professionals in the area of medicine, nursing, physiotherapy, dentistry, psychology and biomedicine. Conmed/Aspen Labs generously donated the two units-costly yet crucial equipment desperately needed by the hospital. Also sent were 9 new cases of attachments, weighing about 75 kilos.
