GlobeMed purchased enough low-cost health and hygiene supplies to make about 1,000 health kits for a community in Nicaragua . NUAID, a student organization based out of Northwestern Medical School , volunteered in clinics in the Matagalpa and Jinotega communities over winter break 2003. Over the course of their stay, the NUAID volunteers saw about 1,500 patients.
