Professor Emeritus of Music at Northwestern University, Laurence Davis, recently appraoched GlobeMed to develop a strategy to incorporate our mission into the study abroad program he runs in Thailand. This program draws students from around the country and presents an opportunity to contunie development of a nationwide network of GlobeMed CSOs. Students in this program will personally deliver supplies to hospitals in need, as determined by Dr. Davis and his past experiences there. This would not only allow students to provide much needed resources, but also introduce them to the positive and negative aspects of Thailand’s health care system. Dr. Davis has set aside a weekend of the trip to make these donations and visit hospitals in the northern part of the country. The students depart on May 18th and GlobeMed is in the process of collecting the requested supply of pharmaceuticals to send with them. |
