GlobeMed was approached in November of 2002 by Mr. Gordon Muleya, a local Zambian working to supply his native village of Choma with equipment for the state-run General Hospital . Mr. Muleya has made the improvement of health infrastructure in rural Zambia a personal goal since he lost his daughter to disease at the age of seven. The Choma General Hospital has about 250 beds and serves the entire surrounding community-it is the only hospital for hundreds of miles around.
