Donate medical supplies.
We are always looking for donations of basic medical supplies and equipment, surgical instruments and machinery, and hygienic and healthcare supplies. The following is a partial list of some of the items we welcome:
- Examination and Surgical gloves
- Sterile bandages and gauze
- Alcohol wipes
- Surgical instruments and equipment
- Sterile syringes
- Drapes and gowns
- Basins and tubing
- Ointments and creams
- Scales for weighing infants
- Field/First aid kits for outreach programs in small villages
Help us store supplies.
As we continue to rapidly expand-and amass a vastly increasing stock of supplies-we have found that we are outgrowing our storage facility in Evanston. We need help finding free or extremely reduced-price storage facilities in the Chicagoland area. Contact Sean Senthilnathan with any information you may have.
Start an Affiliate
All of Globemed's efforts to provide quality health care around the world have only been possible because of the commitment of our volunteers to our cause. Founded as a small student group at Northwestern University by our current Chairman of the Board, John Broach II, the organization has grown from a one-man effort into a more than one hundred person national initiative. In fact, Globemed has grown so significantly that it now has affiliates in seven other schools: Northwestern Medical School, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, University of Michigan, University of Virginia, University of Pennsylvania, Case Western Reserve University and Miami University Ohio. Globemed in these universities have helped in providing funding and medical supplies to our many contacts overseas. Furthermore, Globemed has recently started to receive supplies donated from high schools in the Chicagoland area, including Highland Park High School and Forest Park High School.
If you choose to become a part of our organization by establishing an affiliate at your school feel free to peruse the New Affiliate Packet containing useful information on getting Globemed started. Also please contact our Director of National Development/Expansion, Sean Senthilnathan, at senthilnathan@globemed.org . If you have any questions not included in the packet, he will be more than willing to answer them for you. If you do not want to start an affiliate at your school, but want to contribute in the form of funding or medical supplies, also contact Sean Senthilnathan.
